Dr. Ishaku graduated with a Bachelor's
and a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from
University of New Mexico in 1964 and 1966 respectively.
In 1971, he obtained a Ph.D degree in Electrical
Engineering from Michigan State University, U.S.A.
Dr. Ishaku joined Ahmadu Bello University in 1971
as an Assistant Lecturer and took leave of absence
in 1975 to work with G.F. Appio & Associates
as a Senior & Managing Engineer. He returned
to the University in 1978 as a Senior Lecturer and
later became the Head of Department of Electrical
Engineering.Dr Ishaku was a one time chairman of the Kaduna State Rural Electricity Board, and member of the Board several public and private organizations including Nigerian Electricity Power Authority (now PHCN), and Sunrays Electric Company Limited.He was also a member of two committees established for the Digitalization of Nigerian Telecommunications (NITEL). He joined TELNET ( Nigeria ) Limited
as a Group Executive Director in 1999.
